Fall

I absolutely LOVE fall! 

It's my favorite time of the year. I love the crisp weather, the changing of the trees, pumpkin everything (baked pumpkin seeds, pumpkin beer, pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin bread, etc.), the smell of leaves when they have fallen, caramel apples, caramel corn, candy corn, crunchy leaves, football, halloween, and of course fall fashion! I love chunky knit sweaters, jeans, boots, scarves, and warm coats. I love to pile all these things on together! As much as I love the warmer weather and wearing shorts and tank tops, I think it's nice to be able to wear cozier things.

I hate paying for shipping & handling. I feel like it's an extra $5 I could be spending on a necklace, earrings, or bracelet. So, when I saw that forever21 had one day free shipping with a purchase of $21 or more I was stoked! I had been looking for this shirt in stores, but was unable to find it and felt like this was the perfect opportunity! I love when I'm able to find cute things for cheap!    

My Day

Yesterday was such a great day! Brian had off so we decided to just sit around all day and drink coffee and watch TV. I also went for a run by Lake Michigan. I find it very peaceful running by a body of water. At night we went out to eat at a restaurant in Pilsen called Skylark. From the outside it looks kind of creepy because it only has one window with metal bars over it, but once you get inside it's not so bad. The main thing that draws us to that place is that they have really cheap draft beers--I'm talking $4.50 for a Left Hand Milk Stout! We also ate dinner there too. The cod is sooo good! Just crispy enough and not too greasy. 

After dinner we hopped on the bus and went up to Empty Bottle in Wicker Park to see three bands play. I don't remember what any of the bands were called, but they were all pretty decent. Naturally, Brian and I took advantage of the photo booth.

Pinterest

Whoever thought of pinterest.com is seriously a genius! I could spend hours upon hours just looking at all the cool ideas that people have posted. I love how the "pins" range from recipes and crafts to fashion and exercise. It's seriously a smorgasbord of ideas! I've always enjoyed making inspiration boards, which I assume is why I like pinterest so much. 

I am grateful

After moving to Chicago my luck turned upside down. I fell while running and broke my arm, then I lost my job due to the broken arm, then I was billed a heinous amount by the hospital I went to because I wasn't at an "in network" hospital, and then to top that off my car was stolen while I was on vacation in Madison, WI (pictures of our vacation below). However, for every low, there's a high. Which I would definitely say that is accurate, because after I told my parents about my stolen car they felt so bad that they went out and bought me another one the very next day! Talk about truly amazing parents! Later that day, I also called the hospital and it turns out they dropped all charges, so I don't have to pay for the over priced medical bill! Yayay!!! 

Even though I had all this bad luck things definitely could have been worse. So I made a list of all the things I am grateful for...

1. My family and their generosity

2. My boyfriend and him helping me through this tough time

3. My kitten, enough said ;) 

4. My new car

Hopefully my luck will only go up from here!

Starting a blog

Hello Everyone!

I have decided to start a blog so my friends and family can follow along on my adventures in the Windy City. The majority of my posts will be  based on my adventures in Chicago, but I will also post about my love of fashion, makeup, exercise, recipes, and others random thoughts.
